Twins House

The Austin Twins House began as a single-story, 2 bed/1 bath bungalow in Austin's Hyde Park neighborhood.  The owners loved the location, but needed more space for their twin sons, visiting relatives and a new business venture with the flexibility to work from home. We renovated the existing space and expanded outward and upward.  Providing a light-filled interior, especially at the existing ground floor, was crucial to the design brief.  This was achieved by opening up the lower floor plan, and creating a stairway light well to flood the core of the house with natural light.
